Starting the New School Year

Memorial of St. John Vianney

"Christian wife! Follow in the footsteps of the ideal of all womanhood, the Blessed Mother of God; in joy and in sorrow, she will be your advocate at the throne of her Son."

We had a really good day today at our little homeschool. Today, is my back to school day for attendance keeping purposes; an all new thing for me in a new state.

We colored a few coloring pages with a medieval theme to start to decorate up our school room. I put the timeline right on the wall, and we will fill it up as we go through the year.

We listened to King Arthur and His Knights here: http://librivox.org/king-arthur-and-his-knights-by-maude-l-radford/ Chapters 1, 2, & 3. The kids love to listen while we work.

We did handwriting, phonics and math. Elizabeth did spelling, Mary extra math and Greg worked away on his scizzor practice and letters.

Gabrielle will be home at the end of the week. She has been gone all summer practically, and we really miss her.
